Space Ark! not only is a fun book but also is a noble allegory on how to improve life on Earth. Please help to make this a better world by supportingDirect Democracy ...and one of its most ardent advocates by donating directly to the author or by clicking onto the following PayPal donation link to make a donation: Or, please buy an excerpt from the book's last chapter about a free world governed
exclusively by direct democracy, the same architecture of pure
democracy whereby the Athenians of ancient Greece also governed themselves with no elected middlemen to meddle in their true
democracy. For, a plenary democracy precludes such politicians! Instead of unreliable interlopers, The People
employ the trusty Grass Roots system of town hall meetings,
the framework for true self-rule wherein plebiscites are held in which electorates settle every public issue whether local,
regional or countrywide. Referenda, ballot
initiatives plus
recall elections are modern plebiscites with which the ancient Greeks ruled themselves. Today's plebiscites are vital
links to the venerable past which must not be forgotten as civilization progresses because brilliant ideas from antiquity are
beacons ever illuminating the way to brighter days ahead! For, the highest order of democracy
could be resurrected if the occasional use of the current initiative process was universalized again. After regaining the reins
of government, voters would recommence addressing and resolving all contemporary civic problems by using that egalitarian
procedure, rather than deciding merely a few issues, thereby reviving a
golden age when citizens had been fully enfranchised. To hasten the inauguration of such a pleasant future, boycott
any inferior version of democracy in the meantime by not voting because participating in it merely validates a defective
model of democracy rather than mandating its replacement. Instead, help restore its original design by favoring the supplanting
of its false forms with democracy's only true form!
direct voting on all public issues is the
only true brand of democracy and is therefore the best alternative to Representative Democracy, an elitist paradigm of democracy
intrinsically flawed by its inherent susceptibility to corruption and long plagued by egregious misrepresentation marked by
repetitious cycles of dubious campaign promises followed by many a broken pledge resulting in many a discontented constituent
frustrated by far too many unresolved civic problems owing to the routinely derelict leadership of a mere chosen few. Whereas
the equitable system of Plebiscitary Democracy empowers all voters to participate as leaders while
marginalizing none as mere followers! Governing via elected representatives is not the ultimate
variant of democracy but is merely its penultimate variation, a milestone in the evolution of governance yet still just the
last steppingstone leading from autocracy, rule by a dictator, to oligarchy, rule by only a few leaders, to
grass roots democracy, rule by many people: democracy's superior variety. The final
step in the progressive ascent from imperfect democracy to its pinnacle of perfection must be taken so freedom can flourish.
For, a sound edifice of liberty erected upon the vital cornerstone of human rights requires an authentic republic for a sturdy
foundation. Because without the solid fundament of a genuine democracy underpinning them, true freedom upheld by its stalwart
pillars of civil liberties cannot stand firm nor endure. And, a country not founded upon a bona fide democracy never will be
truly free. Why settle for its crumbs when democracy's whole loaf is available? Alter the status quo if necessary as change
is good if it's a good change!
A detailed blueprint for building and instituting a Participatory Democracy is available by buying the sci-fi book's treatise on
direct democracy
